First came the green light for a reduction in traffic fines. Two days later, the red light went up. Now the lights show half red and half green.

However, there will be no reduction in the RM300 fine for five serious offences:

1.Speeding
2.queue-jumping
3.beating the red light
4.using emergency lanes 6.overtaking on a double-line

Chan Kong Choy said yesterday: "Yes, you can expect some reduction in the rates but we don’t know how much yet."

He said for offences such as :
1.illegal U-turns
2.illegal parking
3.not wearing seatbelts
4.driving with an expired licence

- the compound rates would be standardised with some being reduced.

phiz says : Yet finally our government had made good decision by stopping the 'mega discount' offered by the police. ermm, everybody knew that the government still need our money by paying high summons in the future. They can't simply let go the big income they had. Anyway, congratulations to Police because of their brilliant idea to reduce Malaysian people financial load that comes everyday.
